Director
Stefan Pleszczynski made his feature debut with
L'Esperance, a drama set in a Quebec mining town. Prior to that, he directed the medium-length film
L'Homme Perche aka
The Old Man Who Wanted To Climb To Heaven, starring Marcel Sabourin, which enjoyed a six-week theatrical run, almost unheard of for a medium-length film. Stefan directed "The ol' Coco Bop" Season VII of
Da Vinci's Inquest; "Isn't Very Pretty But You Can Smoke It" and "Put Down The Hose, Pick Up A Gun" for
Da Vinci's City Hall; and "A Champagne Payday" and "Jimmy's Got A Money Machine" for
Intelligence. Other credits include the British series,
The Worst Witch and
Weirdsister College. The Quebec-born Pleszczynski studied at BC's Simon Fraser University, where he made his first short,
The Dragon, which won a major prize at the Canadian Student Film Festival.
