Arvi Liimatainen has worked in film and television production for more than 30 years. He has appeared in front of the camera and on stage as an actor, but his best performances are behind the scenes as producer and director.
Currently producing
The Quality of Life: A Dominic Da Vinci Movie, Arvi also produced
Intelligence, both the series and the pilot (2005), as well as five seasons of the critically acclaimed
Da Vinci's Inquest and 13 episodes of
Da Vinci's City Hall. He produced the CTV movie
The Life, starring Bruce Greenwood, as well as Anne Wheeler's feature films
Marine Life, Angel Square, Bye Bye Blues and
Cowboys Don't Cry. He was Executive Producer on the documentary feature
Mockstars; and produced the television features
Medicine River, Legend of the Ruby Silver and the series
Jake and The Kid (Season II). Arvi produced the film-based art installations
Inconsolable Memories (2004) and
Klatsassin (2006) for the internationally celebrated artist Stan Douglas. Arvi was the production supervisor on the 1995 Emmy-nominated mini-series
Children of the Dust. Arvi is an Honorary Lifetime Director and former Chairman of the Banff Television Festival.
